Ethical Switch was born from a simple but powerful question: "What if business utilities were chosen based on more than just price?"

Our founders, with a combined 43 years of industry experience, saw firsthand the challenges businesses face when navigating the complex world of energy, insurance, and water providers. Too often, the focus was solely on cost, while ethical considerations and long-term sustainability took a back seat.

Our Beginnings

After 23 years in the B2B energy sector, I witnessed countless businesses struggling to find providers that aligned with both their budgetary needs and their values. Meanwhile, my partner's 20 years in technology industries gave him unique insight into how the right digital solutions could transform this experience.

We both called London home, and as we watched businesses increasingly prioritize sustainability and ethical practices, we recognized a gap in the market. While consumer-focused comparison sites were evolving, the B2B sector remained largely focused on price alone.

A Different Approach

In 2025, we decided to create something different. Drawing on my background in social entrepreneurship (including a Master's degree in the field and 15 years working with social enterprises) and my partner's engineering expertise, we launched Ethical Switch with a clear mission: to help businesses make utility choices that benefit both their operations and the wider world.

Unlike traditional comparison services, we built ethics into our DNA from day one. This wasn't just about finding the cheapest option—it was about identifying providers whose practices supported sustainability, fair labor, and community investment.

My Master's in Internet Engineering paired with my partner's strong engineering background gave us the technical foundation to build something truly innovative. We've integrated cutting-edge AI and automation to streamline the comparison process, making it easier than ever for businesses to find ethical providers without sacrificing efficiency or affordability.
